God Is Still In Charge!!
Devotional by Barbara Sanders

Cross 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

We have come to the end of this century - turning the corner to 2000. It's common knowledge that tonight, we are expected to see lots of computer glitches, power shortages, water outages, and lots of mayhem by fearful people!! Some will try to make it bad, if it's not!! There will no doubt be those that will try to put terror in the works!!

But why all the paranoia over a situation that we can't control? GOD has it all under control, folks!! This should be a happy time for all Christians. And, if you aren't a Christian, there is no better time than right now to realize that you need to turn your life over to God, and let him be in control of what happens in your life. HE is not the author of confusion - fear isn't of God, but of the devil!! He gave me a mind, and I'm using it - and surely not to fear the unknown!! Fear will kill you - it will put stress on your life that you can't handle!! It will give you heart attacks, make you do and say things that you ordinarily wouldn't do or say!!

How many Christians have bought into this hysteria thing? How many are hoarding up groceries, water, money? What does this say about their trust in the Lord? Surely, there isn't anything wrong with having a little cash on hand, and having a few groceries to tide you over in case of an outage of electricity, etc. But, to be hoarding to me, is a kind of bondage. And God brought me out of bondage the day he set me free!!

Christians should be happy - not singing Happy songs on one hand - waiting the return of GOD - and, on the other, meeting this 'doomsday' mania like it is TRUTH! If GOD is in control - which He certainly is! - then, let him have control completely. He would never do anything to his Children - he wants the best for us! And he can certainly handle this thing that they call Y2K! He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end, and I have no doubt that he knows all of the 'in betweens'! So, let's wipe away the fear, rejoice in Him, and let him have all the burdens and cares of this world. He can handle them far better than you and I!

Cross Psalms 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
