Psalms 62:5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

So you don't think the devil can 'take your lunch'? That's an expression, meaning he can, and will, steal anything of yours that you don't have protected! That means materially, physically, or emotionally!!

You can protect your material things with insurance; that way, if he 'steals' them, then you get the money from the insurance company and can buy back those things that were bought, but it never gets back all the precious things that you may have accumulated over a life time. Just ask my daughter, whose house has been broken into on two separate occasions, at different locations. Nothing brings back the 'memories' that are in a class ring, or other things of value to only you.

It's harder to get back what he takes from you emotionally and physically. But, it can certainly be done! He plays on our emotions, if we aren't grounded in the Word of God. And, if we are hurt physically, and, not into the Word of God, we have no place to go, except to the Doctors. Don't get me wrong; I'm not advocating that Drs aren't to be seen. Certainly, GOD gave them their talents, and most do use those talents for His glory. But, if you are daily feeding on God's Word, and have it within your spirit, then, you have those scriptures to draw upon in time of need.

Just this morning, I was talking to a friend who has leg problems. The Doctors haven't found what's really wrong, but our GOD knows! Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen [ Heb 11:1 ]. And, 'without faith, it's impossible to please God' [ Heb 11:6 ].

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

The bible tells us that we have to be 'doers of the word' [ James 1:22 ] and not 'hearers only'. If we don't practice what we read, then it does us no good to read the Word. We can say "I have faith", but the bible says, "faith without works is dead" [ James 2:20,26 ].

If you are tired of the devil taking everything you have - your money, your time, your health, your family - start today digging into that STOREHOUSE of KNOWLEDGE, called the Holy Bible. Let the Holy Spirit enlighten you as you read the words over and over. You will find, each time you read a particular passage, that it will be more open to you. AND, suddenly, one day, you'll realize it is within you, and you can rely on it coming back to your memory when you need it. That's the only way you will have the spiritual help you need at your fingertips - get into the word daily and study, study, study!! Today, you may 'have it', but if you don't 'practice' it every day, believe me, it will leave! It's like using your talent; if you don't use your fingers to play the piano and your brain to 'remember'.....then, it will one day leave you. The knowledge you learned when you were in High School is mostly gone, unless it's something that really caught your interest. There are many facts I am sure you and I can't recall about our heritage. Yet, our 'real heritage' is from God and we need to 'cultivate' it every day, by reading, studying, and meditating on it each day.

Heavenly Father, help us to recognize, that without you and the Word, we aren't able to come against the troubles that the devil will put upon us. Help us to keep in the Word, to study daily, and recall that which we read. Holy Spirit, enlighten us as to the meaning of each passage as we read. We thank you that you are the GOD of all, the giver of life, and that all your promises are there for our heritage, if we 'seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness'. We give your praise, honor and glory. In Jesus name, Amen.
