At times, we all have our problems that place a hurdle in front of us - hard to 'get over', 'pass around', or completely surmount. Satan 'listens'
to our voices; he hears our troubles, and our downfalls, what it takes to set us off, and knows exactly how and went to strike!
As Christians, we should have already learned the lesson on the tongue - be slow to speak the problem, pray first, ask for an answer from God. Satan
wants to trip us up, and we give him many opportunities to do that; we just say negative things!
The Word reminds us that "out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh" [ Matthew 12:34 ]. Getting the
Word down in our spirits guards us against saying the wrong things in our hour of need. We should train our mind to have in it only that which the Word
speaks, the Truth about any situation. There is nothing that we go through in our lives that the Lord didn't face while he was on earth. Yet, he came
through without a sin! So there is something in the Word for each of our needs; we need only find it, read it, read it, study, and read again!!
We know that only God is omnipresent; satan cannot be everywhere at the same time. Yet, it seems that he is striking out all over the place at the
same time. This is because his 'side kicks' are set in motion with our mouths. He has 'workers' just as your employer has you as an employee. They work
for the devil just as you work for your employer. We seem to be giving them lots of leeway for work as well.
It is very important to get the Word 'engrafted' into our hearts. Days, at times, are hard to face as it is, without the devil hitting us at every corner!
Find a plan that fits your needs, your daily routine, to read and study the Word. Do this every day and you will find that, the more you get into the Word,
and get it within you, the more you are equipped to meet the devil head on, when he comes against you or your family.
And pray!! My daughter told me about buying a book in the drugstore at work. The title must have 'caught her eye', as she said that she didn't know what
the book was really about - it was the TITLE she was going after at the time. But, as she read, it said to say a prayer, a short prayer, about your need. You
don't have to go into a long detailed prayer, which might not be your way, but to go straight to God with your need, and pray the WORD! Imagine how quickly GOD
can act, when we 'pray the Word'.
The Bible says to 'resist the devil and he will flee from you" [ James 4:7 ]. The way to resist is through the Word, studying and meditating day and night,
and prayer!
