God Will Meet Your Need
Weekly devotional by Barbara Sanders

cross Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Each of us have needs in our daily lives that we need met. To run your automobile, you need gasoline. Have you ever tried to start your car without it? Some say they ride on a 'wing and a prayer' - but it's hard, I am sure, on the feet.

You have to have electricity for lights and appliances. You have to have license to drive a car, to fish, etc. Oh, you can sometimes get by without being caught, but if you do get caught without them, then, there is a fine to pay.

You can live your life without God. You may think you are living a 'good life'. You are doing 'your thing', and nobody is bothering you - not even God. But are you really living a 'good life'?

Without God, in the long run, you pay a price, and a heavy price. Without Him as Saviour and Lord of your life, you are on the road to hell. Nothing more, nothing less. But, you can change that path you are traveling, by accepting him into your life, heeding the call.

If you are a Christian, you can go all your life without reading the Bible, or studying and meditiating the Word. But, when trouble comes your way, where do you turn?

God can supply ALL your need, not just the way to have the daily needs of your life, but your spiritual life as well. He wants us to be prosperous, in health, but he also wants us to study the Word, to get it deep within our spirits. He CAN meet your need, but he also expects you do do something yourself. He wants consistency out of you in Bible Study, prayer, and being obedient to Him. Then He WILL meet your need; you need only ask.

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

We can confess faith all our lives, but if we never do anything, then that faith is dead. Faith changes sinners! Look at Rahab; her conduct proved she had 'living faith', not just a belief of faith. Abraham's believed GOD, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness. True believing is not an act of the understanding only, but a work of the whole heart.

Heavenly Father, we know that you can and will meet our need. But help us to understand that we have to be obedient in our walk with you. Help us to fully trust you and put our faith in you and you alone. Without faith, we can do nothing. We give you praise, honor and the glory due your precious name. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
