Going Home Weekly devotional by Barbara Sanders
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Our cousin's pastor preached her funeral. He made the statement that she wouldn't want it any other way, but a happy "home-going celebration". She loved the Lord very much, and it showed in her life.
She loved people and always had a smile for you. I remember that even from her young days. She always had a twinkle in her eyes, and a smile on her face. And she always wanted to be 'like granny'. Our
grandmother was a jolly little woman, who loved the Lord, and you might catch her 'dancing in the spirit' when she got happy!

Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Our cousin was a woman that loved the Lord with all her heart, and she showed it by loving others. She gave love to the unwanted, the ones that no other person would find loveable. A testimony was given at her funeral
from a person whom she brought to the Lord, through her showing love that wasn't judgmental. She truly followed the Lord in every thing in her life. She celebrated life, and now she's celebrating eternity with the Lord.
How will your 'home-going' be? Will it be a celebration, or a time of sadness? If you aren't sure, now is the time to get your heart right with the Lord. Don't hesitate; it might be too late tomorrow.
| Heavenly Father, we know that one day, if you don't return first, each of us will make this same trip. I pray that, if someone isn't ready to meet you,
they will make a decision right now to accept you as their personal Saviour. We give you praise, honor and the glory due your precious name. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen. |
