Not Always Our Way Weekly devotional by Barbara Sanders
Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

Just ask a Christian webminister about this subject!! You'll get an earful, I am sure. We strive to do the work of the Lord, and, although we aren't trying to exalt self, we like to see something come of our hard work. It's either a note from a person that has been helped or encouraged through our writings/web site, or
the numbers that we 'rack up' on our counters.
All of us have to admit we love numbers!! But I had been 'preaching' to a friend and owner of a large Christian site, that it's 'not in the numbers', but in how we serve the Lord. Try as we do, to stop watching the numbers, our fingers find, once again, the button to push to see what
our count is, what our rank is on a certain Christian counter site, and we strive to do more and better things for the Lord. Try as we might, our count, to us, seems to be taking a downward spiral, rather than an upward plunge.
We 'strive' to MAKE things happen. It just doesn't work in the Kingdom! We are to be obedient, humble ourselves before the Lord, lean on Him, and let Him bring us to the point where we need to be. We can never make ourselves worthy of anything, not even a large count on our website counter! We have to place our
trust in the living God to change the things that He wants changed. If our counter soars to the top of the ladder, and we do nothing for the lost souls, then we haven't reached anything but a NUMBER plateau. But, if we strive to do our very best in the Kingdom, that which HE has for our lives, and we reach the needy, then we have
reached the HIGH PLATEAU - where 'we give', not to receive, but to be a blessing in lives.
If things aren't going your way, but you are being blessed, then remember, God's plan for your life may not be your vision, but it's always the right one!

Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. |
| Heavenly Father, teach us to trust you for the plan of our life and not to look at the circumstances of life. Counters soar, but without your blessings, then we are left empty and void. Keep us on track in being obedient to your calling. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen. |
