Three Strikes, And Your Are Out? Weekly devotional by Barbara Sanders
Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Remember when you were young, and playing softball or baseball at school, or perhaps in your neighborhood? You stepped up to take your turn at bat;
the ball came whizzing by? You didn't have a chance to hit the ball, because it was too fast. Then, you heard, "Strike one!" "Strike Two!" Then, you thought, one more, and I'm out of the game! Well,
then came the FAST ball - you missed. "Strike Three!" You turned and walked off the field with your head down, right?
I am sure many of us have had those 'three strikes' against us in our life. Some have gone through divorces, loss of a job, or the death of a relative. Perhaps we have felt, at times, that there are three strikes against us in our spiritual lives.
Psalms 34:17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
One doesn't have to feel ashamed, when they are facing that 'strike three' in life. There is one who cares what we go through. His name is Jesus. He hears our cry, when we call out to Him. He feels the pain we go through. He is our refuge in time of trouble. We need only call out to him, in faith, and
He will hear us, and come to our rescue. We may still have trials, but we know that we aren't alone. With the Holy Spirit and His power within us, the enemy doesn't stand a chance!
| Heavenly Father, fill us with your spirit and power, that we may face the enemy with our heads held high. We shall not fear what he can do, for the One within us is stronger. We give you praise and honor. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen. |
