We Are Blessed Weekly devotional by Barbara Sanders
James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

I can hear my pastor say to the question, "How are you?", the words, "I am blessed." And, he truly means it. He never defers from this statement, nothing ever catches him off guard,
that he would change that stance. Perhaps, in human standards, people might not view him as so blessed (he's not a millionaire), but he is blessed in things that are most important. He is a servant of the King, a messenger of the Word,
and one who truly knows that GOD is the Almighty redeemer. In that sense, he is certainly a millionaire.
To be blessed, many think that you have to have material wealth, gobs of money in the bank, diamonds and pearls. But, material things and money will not buy you a place in God's kingdom. Those are great to have in this world,
if they don't become 'our god'. Nothing can stand before God and us, when it comes to gaining our place in the heavenly kingdom. We must be partakers of the Lord's table. If we follow after God, and keep His commandments, being a doer of the word and not just a hearer, then we are certainly blessed.
| Heavenly Father, to be a child of the King, we are certainly blessed beyond measure. Help us share the gospel with others that they may enjoy this same blessing. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen. |
