Father's Son

Proverbs 4:3 For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.

Today marks another day in history, as the inauguration gets under way. It is only the second time the son of a former president has taken the oath of office. President John Quincy Adams, son of John Adams, our second president, took office in 1825 as our sixth president. Now, one hundred-seventy six years later, we have yet another son taken the oath of office on the steps of the Capitol. George W. Bush's father was our forty first president, and he becomes our forty third, with only twelve years between their terms.

I am sure former President Bush is very proud of the accomplishments of his sons. He has one son as governor in Florida, and now, his son, George, who held the governorship of Texas, becomes our new president, following in his father's footsteps.
