Who Am I? Weekly devotional by Barbara Sanders
WHO AM I? When I think of that question, my mind automatically thinks of my security, my worthiness,
my blessings or lack of, and how others may perceive me. I'm very secure in WHO I AM, but not all really
know the 'real' me. I know I am blessed - after all, I am a wife of thirty three years, Mother of two grown
children, and grandmother of four wonderful grandchildren. I am healthy, so yes, I've been blessed!! Rich -
I will let you be the judge. Read on!
Prov 20:9 Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
WHO am I that a man should die for? I was born into this world without anything to my name, except my family who
loved me. What worthiness do I have that ONE, long before my time, would lay down his life and die for ME? WHY?
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world ; but that the world through him might be saved.
We know that we live in a world of sin. We know we can't go without making mistakes, no matter how hard we try.
We strive to be a perfect person, worthy in the eyes of man that we might be 'somebody's friend', 'somebody's spouse', just belong to SOMEBODY!
Most of the time, we never stop to think that GOD is the "somebody" we should be looking to for all our
needs, our wants, our happiness. We are humans; certainly humans have the ability to make themselves happy,
meet their own needs, wants, etc. BUT do we?
Phil 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
God sent his WORD in the form of flesh, called him JESUS, to live and die in this world, that our sins might
be forgiven, and that we could live with him in eternity. But we have to accept the free gift of GRACE through faith
in order to obtain the salvation for which he so freely gave his life. He hung on that cross to cover ALL our
sins, not just a few, and what a terrible death it must have been. And yet, there are so many in the world
today whom seem not to care or notice that 'somebody' cared enough to die. He FREELY gave that we might be FREE!
WHO AM I?
| Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I , but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. |
I have put my faith in Christ, the redeemer of the soul, the healer of the sick, the provider for the needy, the peace for all man kind! HE is more than enough!
He is:
Exodus 17:15 Jehovah Nissi - The Lord my banner
Judges 6:24 Jehovah Shalom - The Lord my peace
Ezekiel 48:35 Jehovah Shammah - The Lord is there
and more!!
| Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega , the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. |
| Rev 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega , the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. |
I AM:
Gen 1:27 "created in his [own] image",
I Peter 1:23 "born again.......by the word of God".,
Romans 8:17 " heirs of God, and joint- heirs with Christ;"...

Romans 8:2 " free from the law of sin and death .
Acts 13:39 " justified from all things,"

| Thank you Father, that you sent your son to redeem me from this world, having been crucified
in my place, bore ALL my sins, and gave me a chance to reign with you for eternity. Thank you for making it
possible for me to be what I am in YOU, one forgiven, not through my righteousness, but through the GRACE of God.
Help me to be as you want me to be, obedient to your calling. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen. |
