I know the title sounds like a song, and it is, but a song isn't what this article is about.
There are 'troubled waters' lurking around the internet. By that, I mean there are those that would spam you, put nasty messages in your guestbooks (this has happened to me several times, including today!), and send URLS in emails that
seem innocent enough, until you click on them. There have also been instances of innocent urls on certain search engines; but, when you click on the 'innocent' url, you get porn! I know; it happened to me on a well-known search engine. I was hunting a recipe,
and this particular url was near the top of the selection, with all the 'ingredients' I wanted - the perfect recipe, that is, until I clicked. THEN, there was no backing out - it got my browser entangled into a mess of sites! It wouldn't stop sending my browser, unwillingly, on my part, to
one after the other. I was trying to stop the browser, when, in frustration, I hit the power button! THAT is the only thing that got my machine back in my hands.
Beware! There are those out there that are VERY troubled! It appears they are either frustrated with life itself, or get their kicks out of writing and producing garbage! Either way, they are refuse that needs to be addressed!
There is a _bridge_ that will help you get over troubled waters. It's called the Holy Word, the TRUTH, and the architect is Christ Jesus, the Master builder.
Psalms 37:39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
When trouble comes, as it surely will, on the internet, in chat rooms, on talk programs, or in email, there is a 'safety net'. God is always there. He will be your strength in time of trouble. Phil 4:19 says "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus".
Whatever the need on the internet, go to God; He will be there waiting to help you through all the trials. The water may be rough, and become very troubled, but the bridge He builds will let you travel over them all, without being swept away! Put your trust in HIM!
| Heavenly Father, help each of us over the troubled waters we are sure to come upon, when we get on the internet to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. Help us do the work of the Master without getting into the rut of troubled waters; keep us on the bridge of Truth. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen. |
