Lament or Limit? Weekly devotional by Barbara Sanders
Lamentations 1:10 The adversary hath spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she hath seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy congregation.
Psalms 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

Just look around us today and you'll find the enemy working in every area of life and society. How easily he moves in, when we aren't guarding against him. He comes as an 'angel of light'[2 Corinthians 11:14]. He is so crafty that he can
make things seem right that are wrong, by weaving the truth among the lies he spreads, just as the serpent did with Eve.
The enemy moved among the American people and the airlines for several years in order to check out our safety or lack of such. How much attention did we give to the rules and regulations for flying? Are we perceptive to unusual things or people among us? Laxness in our security
seems to have let the enemy gain a foothold in American life - steal our security and freedoms - for a time. Confidence seems to be at a low, when it comes to flying, because the highest measures aren't taken. How long will we, as a nation, have to suffer before we realize that the enemy is here to
stay, and will make his presence known at our expense? We need to get our heads together, get our security at the top notch level, and teach our people that freedom comes at a price. IF we don't watch our backs, someone else will, and they will be moving in on other parts of our every day lives, just as they did with the plane hijacking!
What should be our course of action? Will we continue to express grief and mourn over our nation's loss, or will we stand up and be noticed - limit what the enemy can do to us? I believe we are a strong people, with a heart for God. If we band together in prayer and warfare for our nation, against the enemy, then I believe GOD
will put restrictions on the devil, and he will cease to be a problem. But we need to keep our confidence in God, never giving thought to doubt and disbelief. All things are possible with God, and all things are possible to them that believe in God Almighty! So, look up! GOD is on our side!
| Heavenly Father, our nation has come under attack from the enemy. But, Your Word says that 'no weapon formed against us shall prosper'. We know that keeping our eye on you and not on the problem will keep us from getting over into
fear and unbelief. Help us to keep our trust in you, regardless of what is going on around us. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen. |
