After Christmas, anyone should be able to answer the question, "What's new?"! Underneath the Christmas trees were covered to overflowing in most homes. Children have more toys than they know what
to do with; yet, they are just given more. And, they expect it! We have so commercialized Christmas, that the whole meaning of the season has escaped most of the children.
Although it will soon be a new year, old things will keep popping up. The war in Afghanistan has been going on for months, and doesn't seem to be nearing an end. For some, it's getting old, and we long to hear 'a new thing'-Osama bin Laden has been caught. But, only God knows
if this will ever happen. Terrorism isn't new, but, each time it strikes, it is a new trial for the country or people it hits.
Each new day should hold a new reason for serving Christ - He has let you live on earth one more day. He holds the key to the switch - each breath we breathe is a gift from on high. We aren't guaranteed another day; yet, He lets us live in order to fulfill our purpose for which He
has set us on earth. We should be striving to obtain that goal, and to draw nearer to God each day, through praise and worship. 'New things' won't get us closer to God, but a 'renewed relationship' with Him will! So strive, in this coming year, to live as close to God as you can - cherishing each
new day on earth as if it would be your last - you never know!
