When my children were little, and they would get hurt, they'd always come crying to one of us. They would have a 'boo boo' and want us to make it well for them. Of course, there
was no way that we could 'make it well', but we could satisfy those little minds. So, we would 'kiss the boo boo' and apparently satisfy them enough that the 'pain' would go away. To a child, this
showing of affection to them in their time of need and pain, made them close to us. Our children have passed along the same way of treating those boo boos to their children. It's nothing to have one of
them come up to us to show us their boo boo, and the bandaid that may accompany it. They'll let us know that Mama kissed their boo boo. And, if she hasn't, then, they want Papa or Nanny to do it.
Now, as grown ups, we run to the Heavenly Father to tend to our 'boo boos'. We never get too old to go to Him, because we are always His children. He wants to 'kiss' away our pain and
sorrow, to help us heal physically, mentally, and emotionally. Our relationship with our Father should be one in which we want to run to Him with our pain, instead of seeking help some where else. He
listens and answers quickly. He understands our feelings better than anyone else, and can give us the peace over any situation that would not be possible with a human.
God gives us the power, through His Word and prayer, that we need to face the worse 'boo boos' in life. If a problem arises in your family or with your children, don't hesitate to grab the Word and
find solace that you'll never find in the world. People can bring you momentarily peace, but, when your world looks the bleakest, only God can bring you everlasting peace!
