Seed Time And Harvest Weekly devotional by Barbara Sanders
3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Isaiah 1:19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

| Farmers plant their seed for their crops in the Spring, and expect a harvest. They know when and how to plant. If seed isn't planted, then, there will be no crop that year.
In our spiritual lives, there is also a seed time and harvest. We should give willingly and obediently. But, we often make mistakes, keeping us from reaping the harvest that we expected from our seed.
- We seldom give what HE tells us to give. Our seed can't multiply out of dis-obedience.
- We usually give without expecting anything back. Do you 'name your seed'? Always give for a purpose.
The enemy will tell you that you don't have much to give, when the Lord prompts you to give a certain amount. Never look at circumstances in your giving, but, give in faith. After all, everything we have belongs to God. He has given us the ability to prosper. We should be willing to give back in return.
Be obedient to the voice of the Lord, and He will reward you.

| Heavenly Father, we often give without expectation. We often give without a purpose. We often give without praying and making sure we are being obedient to you. Help us to always give for a purpose and expect a return, so that we may help others in need. We give you praise! Jesus name we pray. Amen. |
