We all love beautiful weddings. I've been to quite a few. One of them was a storybook wedding, right down to the carriage and white horses taking them away from the Church!! It was breath taking, to see the beautiful bride and
handsome bridgegroom get into that carriage on their night, to ride away in the moonlight, at the beginning of their life together.
I digress. So, it wasn't a 'marriage made in heaven'? So, they weren't happy after a few years together? So, one went after things that were not of God, and ruined the trust of the other?
The couple supposedly goes into the marriage with the expectations of living a life filled with joy, love, and happiness with the man of the hour. But, the wedding bills aren't even paid and things begin to turn sour. The once spotless marriage is no longer spotless; life is dealing the spouse a page that is hard pressed with which to deal.
Spiritually, there is a Bridegroom: CHRIST. There is a Bride: BODY OF CHRIST. Sometimes, earthly marriages end in disaster. Although they were joined by man, perhaps they weren't joined by God, in that this wasn't the planned mate for this person. So, the marriage wasn't one that would last, because not enough work was put into it. But,
the marriage between Christ and HIS BRIDE will last! He will come for a spotless bride, one without wrinkle or blemish.
Are you prepared? Are you adorned with that spotless garment, waiting and watching for the Bridegroom to come at any moment? This will be the wedding of a lifetime and of eternity! BRIDE, get ready!
Isaiah 62:5 For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.
