Fast is a word we find cropping up lots. We know it through the fast food, fast cars, and fast world.
We are fastly becoming an obese society. There are fast food restaurants on almost every corner in every town and city. You need only drive through, order your fast food, and you are on your way!
Lives are on the fast track. Every one is in a hurry these days. It's rush to work, rush home - rush to the Doctor, rush to the store, rush, rush, rush! It's like we are on such a schedule, that we hardly have time to
slow down to breathe! There never seems enough time in a day to get the things done that we think need to be done.
We have cellular phones that keep us in touch with almost anyone at any time, day or night. There's no need to wait and make a phone call at the pay phone, or when we get home. We have 'instant phone' access -
fast!
Then, there are the fast computers we all work on today. There's nothing to getting online and quickly hooking up with someone half way around the world! Folks, we are definitely are living in a fast world today!
Hopefully, we haven't left out the most important thing in life, as we go about our fast living. To leave God out of our life only makes our life far more hectic. But, to know God, is to have the power to live a life of peace and tranquility. Although we are living in the fast world, using the fast technology, and eating the fast food, we have His Spirit within us. And, if we lean not to our own understanding, and let Him
lead, guide, and direct us, the fast living won't bother us as Christians.
