Who Is The Enemy?

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against power, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

For the past three weeks, our faces have been plastered to our television. We have been watching, in bewilderment, the many tragic murders going on in the eastern United States, near Washington, D.C. People were second-guessing as to who the sniper could be, and different scenarios were made. Many said it was a terrorist act, while others maintained it had to be a crazy person. Some said it was surely two people acting together, while others would say it could only be one person, considering two people made it hard to keep a secret. Well, in ways, they were all right. The snipers did put the nation, especially that part of the eastern states, in a state of terror. The threats of more killings caused school children to be unable to participate in their scheduled sports. And, some schools were actually closed for awhile. People were afraid to fill their cars completely with gas, because several killings were at the service stations. It did turn out to be two people together. And, against all odds, they kept the secret, but got a little sloppy at the last - having to brag about an earlier killing in Alabama. We, as humans, consider these people our enemies, menaces to society. They have played on our emotions, tried to destroy the lives of so many people, and did succeed in lots. They kept the law at bay for so long, and making it a situation in which nobody wanted to be caught. Emotions took control, and families hugged and kissed as if there were no tomorrow. But, who is the enemy? Surely, these men are criminals, out and out murderers. They have broken the law of the land and God's law. But, the Word says "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against power, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. [ Ephesians 6:12 ] Satan uses any means available, in order to gain entry into a soul. If we aren't secured with the armor of God (Word), then we could be the next victim to fall to satan's tactics. His time is short, and he's doing overtime, to stop all he can from gaining entrance into God's Kingdom.
