We all know there are four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. And, we expect certain weather during each of these individual seasons. But, those of you who live in the South know that we've been having anything but winter weather, at the moment. We've gone from very cold weather, having to wear heavy coats, to very mild weather, which we've had this week, and wearing short sleeves. By Tuesday morning, we will be cold again!
I am a person who loves the in-between weather - in-between Fall and Winter, not too hot and not too cold. I'm cold natured, and had rather it not get too cold. I would love to have a more stable seasonable weather, and not have it changing from da to day - sometimes during the same day! But, we can't have things like we like them all the time.
The older I get, the more I see the seasons changing. No longer can we depend on the season to bring us seasonable weather. It changes. Earthquakes are happening more and more and in places you wouldn't think about. We can never be sure what place will be next. It is hard to be prepared for something like a hurricane, earthquake, or tornado, if you don't know exactly where it's going to happen. Modern detection is getting better and better, but, still, things happen, at times, without warning. Sometimes the best warning isn't fast enough.
Just as we can't be secure in our knowledge of the weather, neither can we be certain of the time of the return of Christ for His Bride. Knowing this, we must prepare ourselves, keeping our light shining, waiting and watching for the day when He does return. Like the weather, His return is not predictable. We may know that 'our redemption draweth
nigh, (Luke 21:28) but we can't know the time. Only the Father knows.
Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
Mark 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
