On Tuesday, we will celebrate Veteran's Day, which honors all men and women who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States. They come from all walks of life to join the all branches, including the Air Force, where my husband served during the Vietnam War. So many have given their lives to keep our country free.
There's another celebration going on Tuesday - the home-going of my beloved uncle. Although he never served in the Armed Forces, he supported all those that served. His oldest brother went, when only a young boy, to serve his country during the war. He will certainly be missed, but heaven will be richer.
But, the biggest celebration happens in Heaven, when one of the lost sheep comes to the Lord. He doesn't want one of His children to perish. And, when one answers the call to serve Him, he rejoices! Can your mind comprehend how God acts when one of His enters those pearly gates?
Matthew 18:12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
Matthew 18:13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
Matthew 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
