I logged on to the Internet one morning, and up popped a message that I was being shut down in 60 seconds, to save whatever I needed to, before it shut down. Well, there was no time to shut down anything. My computer rebooted itself. Puzzled, I tried again to get on the Internet, but this time, I was met with my anti-virus program saying that I had the dreaded 'worm' that was attacking machines without one doing anything but connecting to the Internet.
What would you do, if you got the virus? Run scared, scream, holler, call technical support, or attack the problem yourself? Well, I did the latter. I wasn't going to let this thing lick me. I quickly got right back on the Internet, got met with the same information, but I managed to get on to the anti-virus web site and find out what I needed to do, before my 60 seconds ran out. My machine kept rebooting, and I kept getting on, until I finally downloaded the fix. Got that set up, only to find I still had a problem with the virus, since Microsoft had a patch I needed to stop this dreaded virus from attacking my machine. The execute file wouldn't let me get rid of it out of the system. I had to have the patch. Oh, by now, I was praying, "Lord, let me stay on long enough to download the fix". I was afraid my Internet connection wasn't going to be fast enough to do it.
Life is a little like the computer. We think all is well, until one day, we find out we've been hit with something that we can't control. We search for a fast fix; sometimes we find it, but most of the time we don't. And, many times, when we get one thing fixed, something else goes wrong. There is always a chance, as with the computer, that we will be hit over and over. And, perhaps one day, it won't be as easy to fix as it was the first time around.
But, there is someone who has all the answers. His answers may not be the ones we wanted, or may not come at the time we would like for them to come. But, they are never wrong, never late - always on time! He knows our needs even before we ask. And, He is waiting for us to ask so He may help us.
Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
