Your world seems topsy-turvy now days. The stock market has gone haywire and one never knows when it's going to have a major crash; very unsteady! You never know about the economy from one day until the next. The payday doesn't stretch as far as it used to; there's nothing left over for the specials.

Lifestyles are not what they used to be when we were youngsters, stealing off to our Grandmother's house to play or just for a visit. Actually, mine only lived out the road a piece from me, and I was constantly heading out the road without my Mother's knowledge. That was in the time when our area had no phones as well. Most grandchildren don't even live near their grandmother and never have their lives enriched by the close association with the grandparents. Lives are being changed every day, every minute, by a divorce, loss of a parent, a child, or the push and pull of society as to what 'lifestyle best meets your needs'.

But hold on! Help is on the way.

Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] profession.

Oh, but you say, "I have professed God as my Saviour, and I've been questioned".

Hold Fast!

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of [our] faith without wavering; (for he [is] faithful that promised)

James goes on to say that a "double-minded man is unstable in all his ways". So do not be ashamed to stand up for what you believe; hold fast to the TRUTH of GOD. He is the 'author and finisher' of our faith. God's WORD is TRUTH and the truth shall make you free, never make you go wrong.

2 Timothy 1:13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

HOLD FAST to God's Word! That is what is going to get you through until the end. Pay days, great marriages, wonderful children, money in the bank, fine homes, clothes, jewelry - MERE things - will never take the place of the WORD. They will never satisfy the hunger within your heart and soul. They are day to day 'life blessings', but not the blessings that will ultimately be yours if you HOLD FAST until JESUS returns for his Church.

Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

Father, help me to be an overcomer, a hearer and a doer of the word. Help me to stand fast in the eyes of adversity, the deceptions of defeat and the devil! Guide me through the wrong to the RIGHT - help me see that your way is the only way to reach the ultimate goal of eternity with you and your Son. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
