Havoc or Peace?
Weekly devotional by Barbara Sanders
How's life with you these days? Are you in a state of tranquility, or are you in complete chaos?
Most of us are never in a complete state of euphoria 'all the time'. Something keeps our spirits down
and we feel depressed, distraught, defeated, or just plain 'down' at times!! Is this a case of the
'blues', or have we opened up some door in our life and satan is trying to 'waltz' right in?
If your life is in a state of havoc, consider the following:
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Jesus left us 'his peace' when he went to be with the Father. When the Lord gives something, then it is rightfully yours. But there is a world force
out there trying to 'take away' that which is rightfully yours!
Satan will attack you from every area of your life; he has no shame! He's out to get all those he can entangled with the world before his days are truly up on this earth!
But the bible says to 'resist the devil and he will flee from you'..... We have to remain FIRM against his actions and remember to put all our trust in GOD, no matter how bleak it
seems with us, no matter how our feelings run amuck at times! "Greater is HE that is in you than he that is in the world." [I John 4:4] God hasn't fled the scene, but sometimes we forget in whom we are putting our trust, that HE is able to do 'exceeding,
abundant, above anything we ask or think, [Eph 3:28], but there is a catchy phrase included! "According to the power that worketh in us"....whose power is working in you?
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly. |
Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
True peace or tranquil state comes only through the peace of God. Satan can mask the 'peace', but never will you have true peace until
you give your ALL to God, let him lead, guide, and direct your path, in every area of your life.
|Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. |
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Rise above the hurt, the pain, the confusion, the HAVOC in your life to a better life - one filled with the PEACE of God. Kick the devil in the teeth,
and let him know he's here but for a season and that season is just about up. You are a child of the most High GOD, and HE is your 'bridge' over troubled
waters, the one who satisfies you with joy, peace and love, and sets your feet on higher ground when the life you live gets too much for you to handle
by yourself. Praise GOD from whom all blessing flow!

| Father, I thank you for the peace that fills my heart, for the very knowledge that you and you alone supply me with
all my need, fill me to overflowing with joy, peace, and the understanding of your word. Help others see their need to rely upon you for
their strength, joy, and peace. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.|
