Do you ever have days where nothing seems to go right? Doesn't matter how careful you are in all
your planning, things just go wrong.
I've been cooking a meal for the lunch planned at our church tomorrow. Everyone brings lunch and we
eat and have fellowship and a singing. But, as it seems right now, I may not be taking hardly anything. I have
managed to burn a pot of peas, burn up a water kettle [it turned from gold to black!], and now have a cake
in the oven running over into the bottom of the oven. What a mess I have! And, on top of all that, my house is
full of smoke! So this would make anyone frustrated
to the point of quitting!! Oh, it might all seem trivial to someone else, but then they aren't walking in my shoes
right now. If this happened to half the cooks in our church, then who would feed all the visitors that are always
at this yearly meeting?
I even told someone tonight, had it not been for the fact my granddaughter is here
to go with me tomorrow, I would forget it all. It's not worth the hassle.
But then that's just what old slewfoot would want me to do!! I may be frustrated right now, but I am not defeated!
My first pot of peas may be stuck and my cake charbroiled, but it's becoming sort of funny!!
Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Though the outcome looks bleak for the meal, and my nerves on edge, I will keep the faith. I believe sometimes it
looks worse just before the Lord has something planned in our lives that will make those moments seem like such a little
thing.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
By faith Noah saved his family when he did as the Lord asked and built the Ark. Abraham went out seeking the land of promises
in faith. His wife Sara by faith bore a child in old age. The walls of Jericho came down by people standing in faith.
And I could go on and on. These stood in faith, although they received not the promises. How much more should I stand in faith,
knowing that GOD sent his Son here on earth to die for my sins? The Word says that "without faith it is impossible to please God" [Heb 11:6].
Galatians 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, [it is] evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
| Heavenly Father, I may be frustrated and I may be down, but I put my full faith and trust in you. You have never let
me down and I know you won't now. Satan is defeated and the victory is mine. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. |
