Coming out of the grocery store Friday afternoon, I was greated with this loud Rap music. As I came
closer to my car, I realized a young teenager was sitting in his parents' car right next to mine, with
the radio turned up loud enough to blast blocks away, listening to some of the most outrageous
music I've ever heard. This is the trend, it seems, for the teenagers today.
The thought hit me, as I had to listen while unloading my groceries, that this music could render him deaf
for life, as well as corrupt his mind, soul, and body.
Do you have your radio turned on to the right station? Is the 'radio of your soul' turned on? Are you
fine tuned to what God is saying to you today? The song,
"Turn Your Radio On' and listen to the music in the air came to my mind as I rode home Friday afternoon.
How many times do we have the "radio" on and garbage is rolling in without us being conscious of what is
happening to us?
God tells us in his word for those that have ears let them hear what he has to say to us.
Mark 4:9 And he said unto them , He that hath ears to hear , let him hear .
10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
11 And he said unto them , Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all [these] things are done in parables:
12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear , and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and [their] sins should be forgiven them .
What is your need today? Is it getting met? Are you assured a place in God's eternity? These are questions each of us
need to have the answers for and they can be found in the Word of God. There are lessons to be learned on each page
of the bible; we just have to 'tune in' and 'listen' to what God has to say. His word is Truth, and HE is the door to eternity.
Salvation is for today and eternity with Him for life.
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved , and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
Take time out each day to read God's word, to get it deep within your soul, so that it will be there in time of need, especially
when the trials of life come your way. You will have the 'right tune' in your "soul's radio" ready to be heard when there is a need. No
turning on the dials - it's on 'fine tune' - automatically set off by anything, the slightest attack from satan, or the need of another.
James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word , which is able to save your souls.
22 But be ye doers of the word , and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Heavenly Father, help me to stay tuned to you and your Spirit, that I might have your Word
within me in time of trouble. Let me take time each day to reflect on your word and what it means to my well-being. May my soul's
radio be forever tuned to your station, the one in which we have assurance of eternity with you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
