There's nothing like praise and worshipping our Saviour! But it must be done as He would prefer it done, or you will not get what you should
out of worshipping our Lord.
Sure most of us, especially pentecostals, love to raise our hands and praise the Lord, sing to Him, and some love to dance before the Lord as David did.
But if we aren't following the leading of the Holy Spirit, staying in the Word, and not getting into the flesh, then it's worthless. Oh, it may
make us "feel good", but that's as far as it gets.
Worship and Praise should be meaningful; in other words, you want to press into the throne room, to feel the glory that the Lord has for each of you.
His Power is in praise and worship, but it must be done biblically - in spirit and in truth.
What is Spirit and Truth? Well, delving into the word and searching out - Spirit is NOT of the flesh, it's the HOLY SPIRIT that resides within you, the vessel
of the Lord. Truth is 'what is true in any matter under consideration' - here being, the TRUTH of the WORD, "reality" of the Word. If we get into the flesh in our worshipping, then we
are not glorifying God - and we are not worshipping Him in truth.....so it must be we would not be worshipping Him in the Spirit of the Holy Ghost.
The devil hates praise and worship to God because it reminds him of where he used to be. So he will do everything to discourage you from praising and worshipping the King!
Praise
- stills the enemy
- shakes off your heavy bonds
- breaks the fetters of iron
AND the devil does not like for people to be free!
So many people are bound today and don't know how to get out from under all the pressure, oppression, afflictions, poverty, and misery.
Well, start praising the Lord!! He says that He inhabits the praises of Israel.....his people! Wherever you are, you need to be in a constant
state of praising and worshipping the Lord. Does not have to be a formal setting. Just lift your hands and begin to thank the Lord for what you have,
what you are, what he's made you, given you....and then begin to PRAISE HIM with your lips. He expects a 'sacrifice of praise' -
[
Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. ].
It's not hard to open our mouth and begin to praise Him. We don't need to worry about what others think.....just begin to do what comes naturally, and let HIM
guide you through the Spirit. He loves to be loved, through praise and worship! I've found my car is one of the best places to give praise to my Lord!!
Psalms 29:2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
| Heavenly Father, guide us into true worship and praise. Help us overcome our fears of man,
and be able to press forward into the throne room. Those that are too shy to do what doesn't come natural to them, having perhaps been in
denominations that do not consider raising your hands, etc., as praise and worship - show them Lord that this is of you and is a
true form of worship and praise that you desire. Help us to be more like David, who knew how to praise and worship you! Guide us, Oh, Lord,
in every thought and deed, to praise you wherever we are. I thank you that you inhabit the praises of your people!! We give you honor, praise,
and glory due your name. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen. |
