This is Easter weekend when we celebrate the resurrection of Christ Jesus. We know he arose the third day after he was crucified, having bore all our sins on the cross of Calvary.
What a blessing to know that, if we have accepted salvation through Grace provided by him in this death, by faith, then we will also reign with him.
Just what does this mean, many ask. We have to 'die to sin', just as Christ did - he put our sins under the blood, but we have to accept the GRACE by faith, in order for our
individuals sins to be 'under the blood'.... he died for 'the whole world', but the 'whole world' will not accept Him.
We have to experience the 'new birth' of righteousness, not just from the outward appearance, but the inward man must change. The corrupt nature of the old man must be crucified with
Christ. We can no longer be a slave to sin, but must live a holy life in Him.
How can this be done? By faith in Him, putting our whole trust in Him, we can learn to live a righteous life - not through ourselves, but by Him. We need to daily
'die to self'.... let Him make the changes in our lives .... as we fill our hearts and minds with the Word of God.
James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Why not start today trusting fully in the Lord? What better time in your life to do this than during the weekend of Easter - re-dedicate your life to Him, to follow
after righteousness, and no longer be tossed around by the adversary?
Heavenly Father, we thank you today for those that are re-dedicating their lives to you, to fully trust that you are able to
keep them in your righteousness. This is the time we celebrate the resurrection of your Son, and what a glorious time for people to turn back to you! We give you thanks for
sending your Son, that we might be eternally yours. We give you the praise, honor and glory due your precious name. Amen.
