Today's Christians too often go after God in the wrong way. Yes, you heard right; in the wrong way! We seek the blessings and promises that He gave in His Word - and we hear
so often, "more, God, more". We want to be blessed, spiritually and materially. We seem to think God is there to 'please us'. We forget that HE chose US, not the other way round.
Sure, we accepted the call, but it came 'through grace, by faith'... no other way!!
The CHURCH needs to stop and 'wait on God'... 'seek His face'.
Psalms 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Is it too much for God to expect us to come to Him with our whole being, concentrating ONLY on Him, not after what we want, but what He wants for us?
How many times have we missed what He had in store for us when we'd come before him, giving him every detail on what we expected 'from' Him, but never being
broken and repentant before him? Can't you see God - listening, patiently... waiting to see if His chosen one is going to stop long enough
for Him to talk to them!! We are so anxious to be IN his presence, but most times only for the blessings. We need to stop and 'seek' the BLESSER and let
Him do His work within our lives. We can't imagine what God has in store for us, if only we'd take time to listen!
The Christians would benefit from learning to lean TOWARD God, WAITING for His VOICE, keeping our mouth SHUT.... until we hear from on High. We need to
come to God: "Here, I am Lord; whatever you want for me, I give you my all. Whatever I need to change, I am willing to change." Then WAIT upon GOD!!
If today's Christians would attain an attitude of worship continually, HIS LIFE would shine in us. I believe others would be able to see the radiation
from us, knowing that we had been 'In His Presence', and would want that kind of relationship with our Lord!!
Heavenly Father, give us the heart for worshipping you continually. Help us to see that you want us to
love you; that you desire us to come into your presence. My desire is to always be in Your will. We give you praise, honor and glory due your precious
name. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
