Too often 'friend' slips from our lips, when we should say acquaintance. Friendship is more intimate than a mere acquaintance. A true friend is a person
you can laugh with, cry with; in other words, you can be yourself. A friend will listen to your troubles and never judge. You can fully trust a friend.
I've found that it's true, that you must be friendly in order to acquire friends. And, it's also easier to make friends with some people easier than it is others. You just seem to migrate
to some people more than you do others. Therefore, it's easier to make friends with those people with whom you have like interests.
A friend and I were merely looking at her bird software on her computer. We had been talking, as we looked at the birds, and listening to their 'voice' on the computer. Our husbands were in the
other room, and hers wanted to know what we were doing. I told her to just turn up the sound and let them hear. But, the very next bird she clicked on sounded like us clearing our throats, as though we had a frog stuck there.
Needless to say, we started laughing and the tears started flowing! Sharing like that with a friend is the best medicine possible. Your cares seem to just disappear, and you find yourself in perfect peace. I think God shows
up miraculously, just when you need him. He even shows up in our laughter and tears with our friends.
The one true friend you will always have is God. No matter what you do, you can't ever separate yourself from him and his love. He said he would never leave us nor forsake us! He will be there, when your last friend is gone!
God's Thoughts:
Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, thank you for friends with whom we can be close. But we know Jesus is the friend we will have, regardless of the circumstances in our lives. He will always be there to see us through whatever comes our way. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
