Hello, God September 19,
2000 Our Thoughts:
I received a sweet note from a young Mother with two small children. She was having a hard time establishing a personal relationship with God, tending to her children.
She was too tired at night, when she finally had time to search Him out, and that wasn't the personal time she wanted. This lady was wanting to know how you could have quality time with God, when raising a family. My first advice was
wake up in the morning, thanking Him for the dawn of another day.
In the busy lives of people, they sometimes forget that God is out there waiting patiently, to hear from them. He isn't choicey in what you say. He wants to hear your voice. He understands that you are human, with a job to do in your life, a family to which you have to attend.
Start your day off, as you put your feet on your carpet in the wee hours of the morning, with "Hello, God". Then, listen to His voice; you'll hear him in the wind, in the stillness of the room, and see him in the beauty of the
trees, the flowers, your children's faces. Put on a tape of the Word, and, as you go through your day with the children, reflect on what you've heard and learned. You'll be surprised how often God will show up, and it does not have to be just at bedtime. GOD is everywhere, and he's ready to talk with you, sit with you. He's just waiting patiently for His children to recognize Him as their Father.
God's Thoughts:
Exodus 15:2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.
Psalms 30:12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, teach us to talk to you. Help us not to feel overwhelmed as we approach you, because you love us so! In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
