It's a rat race out there! Had me looking for the cats to come running!
Thank God this is not my home; I'm only passing through.
I had an hour's drive to my oldest grandson's school in order to pick him up and bring him back to
town to get a shot at the pediatrician's office. I was pushing against the clock, having to make several
side trips before I was off to make the journey.
As I made my way through traffic on the interstate, I was amazed at the frenzy most people were in on the road! There is absolutely no
feeling for the next driver. It's always, "let me get into that lane, ahead of the next guy"......that is all that matters to these manic drivers of today!
Life seems to be of no worry for them; probably think it will be there for them forever. Nothing can harm them; well, almost nothing, or so it seems.
As I travel on the highways, I am constantly praying, Lord, don't let me come up on that one in a wreck. Take care of him/her. And, I'm also asking for a hedge of protection around me and
my passengers. I've had many close calls, from people getting into a rush, not looking where they were going, almost side-swipping me. I see them in my mirror behind, coming upon my bumper as
though I'm either not there, or they can't tell I'm not in the 'flying mode'.
So, when you take to the roads for a leisurely drive, or maybe a necessity, never underestimate the power of an automobile, or believe that, for every car, there has to be an intelligent driver. This is not always the case! So, PRAY; prayer is the power given to you by the Lord. There is no POWER that is greater than His. Make use of Prayer freely every day, in every
situation. As it's been said, _God is only a prayer away_, if you have a personal relationship with Him. Otherwise, you are on your own, in the rat race today!
God's Thoughts:
1 Thessalonians 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, teach us patience. Help us to adjust our attitude to accomodate others. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
