'LANDING' ON THE SOLID ROCK Our Thoughts:
Today, I 'met the rock'. Unlike Moses, when God placed him on the rock, so he could see his goodness and glory, I literally 'fell upon the rock' - the concrete garage floor, that is.
Nothing led me to believe I was going to fall, and nothing could have prevented me from falling, outside of God. And, I had no instinct to 'catch' myself, and nothing
could have prepared me for the fall.
My husband and I were leaving the house in our truck, and I realized I had left my sun glasses in my car. So, he backed up to the garage door, opened it with the opener,
and was getting out. I told him to just let me get them. I opened the car door, got both our glasses, and shut the car door. What happened next is something you don't want to find yourself doing, believe me!
I caught my foot on a leaf blower he had in the garage. From there, I did a spin of my body, and knew I was falling and had no way of preparing, since I was just 'out in space'. I hit so hard on
my right hand, I broke my sun glasses all to pieces! Hit on both knees, and then bounced to the left, hitting on my left shoulder, throwing my feet out from under me. Stunned is hardly the word for what happened. I just
sat there in a daze, and my husband had no clue to what's happening to me. That's how fast someone can get badly hurt. Although I have no scratched, just a minor cut on my thumb, I am badly worn, and know I will be sore tomorrow.
When we 'meet the rock', we want that rock to be Jesus. He is Christ the Rock, the Rock of salvation, refuge, and strength. All those that 'fall' upon this Rock are happy indeed! There will be no 'aftermath' of bruises and sore spots, but
a lingering joy and peace, coming from the Father above.
Have you met Jesus Christ, the Solid Rock?
God's Thoughts:
Exodus 33:21 And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, you are the solid Rock on which I stand. Help me to stand today, tomorrow, and forever. We give you praise, honor and glory. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
