A byline is usually a line in a newspaper carrying the name of the writer of a particular article.
But, ordinary people like us are sometimes 'known' by our bylines - not our names. Have you ever associated a person with what they say?
"I can't do that". "I'm too busy". "That is his job". "I don't feel good". "But, you just don't understand." Those are all bylines of people who have the 'don't syndrome',
or don't realize that GOD is the one that supplies them with their every need.
Remember little David? He didn't back down when he saw the giant coming; he was _pumped up_ with the power of God. He understood what trust really meant. He knew that God was in the plan,
and he would succeed. He probably never acknowledged that he 'could not do' anything! His faith and trust was placed in God.
And, there's the prophet, Elijah. He had to flee from Jezebel, in order to keep from being put to death. He went into the wilderness, and sat down under the juniper tree, probably afraid that
death might come, not by sword, but perhaps starvation? Then, appeared the angel with the miraculous food. Now, we as humans, would probably say, 'that isn't real' - maybe just a mirage - and went on, or perhaps
sat there on the stump and died! But, Elijah ate the food, and went on his journey of forty days and nights, still in despondency. But, wait! God appeared on the scene, and manifests to him his glory and sends him
back to Damascus. Elijah was to anoint the King of Syria and Israel, and Elisha to be prophet in his room. The words, "I can't do this, I'm not able" never appeared, that I could see.
If you are known by a _byline_ or know someone who is, why not pray for God to take away the negatives in your life, and restore it with faith and trust? Believe on Him, that He is able to supply you with your
every need, and YOU can 'do all things through Him'. After all, He is a 'rewarder of those that diligently seek Him." Heb. 11:6
God's Thoughts:
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, restore our negative attitude with faith and trust in you. Help our tongues speak words of wisdom, faith, and trust. We give you praise. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
