THE UNEXPECTED
January 11,
2001  Our Thoughts:
This morning, we woke up to ice on the ground, and it was sleeting, covering everything in sight. This was very
unexpected, although it had been expected to rain today. The weather has gotten very unpredictable lately. One day, it may be warm, and the next, it could be freezing. Sunshine one day, and the
next, it will be snowing.
The appearance of the Lord will be in that same manner. We do not know when the day of his coming will be. We are urged to keep a watch, day and night, so we will be ready. We need to be wise as five of the
virgins were, with their lamps filled with oil, not as the other five, caught without oil. [Matthew 25]
We should be studying the Word daily, keeping our minds stayed on God, so we will be ready to meet Him, when He does come. We will not be able
to tell God, 'Wait awhile; I haven't had time to get ready'. The scripture says, 'in the twinkling of an eye', [ I Corn 5:52 ] He will return and gather up His bride.
God's Thoughts:
Mark 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, we do not know when your appearance will be, but help us be completely prepared, looking for the time of your return. Help us keep our eyes stayed on heaven and our hearts stayed on you. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
