Gone, Forgotten, Kaput!

dotOur Thoughts:

Forgetfulness seems to be popping up more regularly, as I grow older. Actually, I suppose I could claim I've been too busy to remember lately, with all the holidays, and babysitting grandchildren. But, the truth is, I forgot to check my driver's license, knowing that I get them renewed in the even years. Only after I was asked, writing a check at a store, if I knew mine had expired, did I realize my birthday had come and gone and I had actually forgotten to get them renewed! Well, that puts a red flag in your mind, and, having driven for two weeks with expired license, the honesty creeps into the thinking, and one decides one can't drive with expired license. Probably a funny thought, but true, nonetheless. So, off I went to the courthouse this morning, with my husband feeling sure we'd be harrassed by public offical because I hadn't remembered to get them renewed last year.

The official was very kind, and just smiled and said that lots of people forget. They haven't sent out reminders in years, and I suppose we all forget at one time or another. The picture was taken, information updated, and 'sign on the dotted line', and write the check, and off we were.

The government doesn't forget about these things. Go so long, and you no longer have driver's license. Unlike the government, when God forgets, it's forgotten permanently, never to surface again. When you come to Him, confessing your sins, he removes them completely, as far as the east is from the west, never to remind you of them again. If they surface, it's because satan is trying to trip you up, make you feel bad over something for which God has completely forgiven you. As the old song goes, 'Praise God, my sins are gone', which means, once removed, always removed. Unlike the driver's license, which will expire again in four years, and need to be renewed, those sins will never surface again.

dotGod's Thoughts:

Psalms 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

dotOur Cup:

Heavenly Father, although we are to have the mind of Christ, man takes over at times, and we forget. Thank you, Lord, that you have forgotten those forgiven sins and I will never be reminded of them again. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
