A First

2001  Our Thoughts:
There are many 'firsts' in our lives - the first step, the first tooth, the first school day, the first date, and etc. We love to
remember those 'firsts' as happy memories in our lives, and our children's lives.
If Senator John Ashcroft is confirmed to be the Attorney General, then this will be a BIG third FIRST for him. He was
the (1)first pentecostal to be in the Senate, (2)first pentecostal to hold a governership, and now, if elected, (3)the first pentecostal Attorney General. What a track record of firsts!! Very impressive! In my
personal opinion, I don't think this is a coincidence. I believe this has been orchestrated by God, himself, although I will probably get some opposition in this. With someone like John Ashcroft, who lets GOD rule in his life, there is
no doubt that God has to be working in his public life, as well as his private life.
One day, about two thousand years ago, there was another very important first that happened here on earth. God's first and ONLY SON, was sent to earth, in
the form of flesh. He came to give the people another chance, to be redeemed from the curse of the law. He was condemned to death, hung on the tree, and endured agony, that you and I might
be free from sin. He supplied Grace by faith to each of us that wants a 'first' with Him - to be in that number that rises to meet Him, when He returns to earth.
God's Thoughts:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, You are the FIRST and ONLY God in my life. Thank you for sending your Son to die for my sins. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
