Food For All

dotOur Thoughts:

We have really gotten into bird watching around our house. My husband had put a bird feeder up on the pole where the bug wacker hung during the summer. He began to buy bird feed, something we had never done before. The birds have been coming by the droves. We've seen blue jays, cardinals, several different woodpeckers, yellow finch, and others. We've also had squirrels coming, including a beautiful fox squirrel, my husband's favorite. The more food we put out, and the more varieties, the more birds we seem to have congregating under the pole or on the feeder.

God made all the birds and animals, just as he made you and me. He gave them food to eat, although man loves to feed them as well. God also gave us food, both for the body and the soul. We are always hungry for food for the body. It's hard to even do without one meal, and we are constantly snacking inbetween meals. But, how much do we hunger for the Word of God, the soul food, that each of us need daily? Do we long for that fulfillment as much as we long to have our stomach filled? Do we miss the nourishment of the Word, when we go days, maybe weeks, without filling our storehouse with scripture? There is enough food to satisfy our hearts for eternity. If we would read and meditate on the Word, and ask for enlightment into it's meaning when we didn't understand, our lives would be so much richer. We would have _food_ to satisfy us in the toughest of times, _food_ to feed to those unsatisfied souls that don't realize for what they have a hunger. God is faithful, but we also need to be good stewards of His Word.

dotGod's Thoughts:

Psalms 104:14 He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

2 Corinthians 9:10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness)

dotOur Cup:

Heavenly Father, our soul hungers after you. Help us to stay in the Word, to be filled to the brim with your food. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
