Measure of Faith
Our Thoughts:
Each of us has been given a _measure of faith_. The dictionary says measure means a 'definite quantity has been measured out'. When the apostles asked God to increase their faith,
he reminded them, if they had the faith of a grain of mustard seed, then they could talk to the sycamine tree and it would obey them. When the disciples couldn't cast out the devil from the lunatic, the Lord told them, that had they faith as a grain of
mustard seed, they could have spoken to the mountain and it would obey them. Somewhere in the 'shuffle', they got sidetracked in their faith.
When we truly place our faith in God, we know we have a secure belief in God and a trusting acceptance of His will. We don't be come wishy-washy, but hold on to that 'measure of faith', believing that what God said He would do, he could and would do.
To often, we get out eyes off the TRUTH, and onto unbelief. We read what the Word says, but somehow don't connect this with faith, and therefore, get into unbelief and our faith doesn't work. Our 'mustard seed' isn't growing. We need to always speak the Word, which is the Truth,
building up our confidence in truth.
God's Thoughts:
Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, help me build on my faith daily, increasing my faith to the max! I want to always trust fully in you. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
