There's No Secrets Unknown To God
Our Thoughts:
Its fun to 'keep secrets' from someone, when you are young. I can just hear someone going around, chanting "I know a secret. I'm not going to tell you."
It always made the other child mad, because they didn't know this all important (or so we thought) secret that the other person knew. But, as children go, it didn't stay a secret long. Heads could be seen bent towards
one another whispering. And, then, you had another child chiding in, "I know the secret." It was sort of teasing. After a few days, forget the secret! Everyone knew what started out to be one child's secret. But, with
children, it's hard to hold out from a 'best friend', and so the story goes. It's not a secret any longer.
Forget children's secrets. Less think about the adult secrets. We often keep things a 'secret' from our friends, our spouses, our children. It may be because we are ashamed of telling them something. Or,
we might think it's important to keep certain details to ourselves. But, there is nothing kept secret from God. From the little trivials to the most important - the least to the worse - HE knows everything that there is to
know about us. There's nothing that we do behind closed doors, hushed conversations - nothing that he doesn't know. He sees and hears everything we do or say, even the 'hidden' secrets of the heart.
God's Thoughts:
Psalms 44:20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
Psalms 44:21 Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, help us to do and say only things that we would not be ashamed of you knowing, for you know all there is to know about us. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
