Be Not Ashamed!
Our Thoughts:
Senator Ashcroft was not ashamed to let people know that he let God be in all his decision making. He was ridiculed
for letting his faith have part in every thing he does in his life. His character was assassinated during the recent Senate hearings, but he held fast to his beliefs. Afterwards, he would
say that it hurt him to have his colleagues, with which he had served six years, and even on the Senate Judiciary committee, to say the things they did. But he said he'd go on, and wouldn't hold
anything against any of them that spoke ill of him.
If we live a true Christian life, free from sin, keeping the commandments of God, then, we will no doubt suffer ridicule. Lots of us will suffer exclusion. We will be looked down upon as
strange people or problem people. We won't 'fit in' with the social crowd. They will make one feel uncomfortable around them, with their tongues of darkness. But, we should never let this upset us. We do
not need to compromise our position with Christ by settling for doing what the crowd proposes, when it doesn't fit with our values as a Christian. Seek to be different, to uphold the Word, always. Let people
see through your every day life that you mean business with the Lord, and you will not stoop to a low, just to keep a friend, or be one of the 'in' crowd. You will draw people to you, by standing your ground,
not being ashamed of letting people know, through your life, that you are a dedicated individual.
God's Thoughts:
1 Peter 4:16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, help us stand true to your Word every moment of the day. Help us never compromise our stand with you, whatever we go through. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
