From the time we leave our Mother's womb, we want, need, and seek LOVE! A baby yearns for the Mother's gentle touch, a touch that supercedes all others. She knows the needs
of the baby that can't yet let it's needs be known. The Mother's inner love was borne during the gestation period; she had nine months to become attached to that little baby growing in her womb, to nurture and grow to love it.
God made her the avenue through which we all, as babies, came, and He provided the love within her that sustained her baby through those months. And, He will guide her through the months and years ahead, if only she will let Him.
As we grow into our teens, and adulthood, we take on the responsibility of finding our own definition of love. Some think it lies within the sexual realm; sex is love, to them. Others think love means 'buying' and 'giving' to others.
It's so easy to drift away from what the word LOVE really means. Love is a deep compassionate feeling, without thought of rewards.
When I became attracted to my husband, I had no thought of rewards, other than marriage, and to live with him until 'death do us part'. I wanted a life-long relationship, with bonds of endearment - not a life of 'if you will, I will', or 'if you don't, I will', or 'satisfaction or divorce'. Those
things never entered my mine, as I am sure they don't with most couples embarking on the matrimonial trail.
As God sent His Son to the world, it wasn't for a 'reward', but out of compassion for the sinners. His LOVE for us was so deep, that He had to see His own Son, who _knew no sin_ [2 Corn 5:21], hang on the tree, spit on, stripped of all dignity, and placed in a tomb. But, thank the Lord, God knew the outcome!
It was His LOVE that sent the Son, His LOVE that let His Son die for us, and His LOVE that assures each of us a life with Him, when we come to know Him through His SON.
God's Thoughts:
1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
