There's not a day that goes by that something doesn't bother us, or get in the way of our happiness. A friend and I have our respective newsletters, going forth from our sites.
We both enjoy getting the newsletter together each week, and sending it out to our list of subscribers. It's a joy to us to be able to put together a newsletter that have our feelings, our interests,
and God's Word distributed within it to just the right mixture, that it's enjoyed by all. But, sometimes, to our amazement, (or could it be the adversary working overtime?) someone unsubscribes. That's
what happened to my dear friend today, after she sent her weekly newsletter out to the world. She already had her expectations on a trip crushed today, teenage boys lounging on the couch and not helping, and then this happened - she probably is wondering how much more she can stand, before she
'loses it'.
Of course, my reply was to remember how many subscribers her friend (me) had, compared to the ones she has, and then, in light of that - decide to let it bother her or not. Folks, her subscriber list reaches to the moon - mine hardly got out of this computer! Just kidding, but you get
my drift!! She has nothing to worry over. Her friends try to assure her that it happens every day, to every newsletter editor, and it's usually not because we aren't good. It usually means someone can't keep up with their email, so a newsletter goes first. I know; it's happened to me. But, still, I feel
her pain. She feels as though she's done something wrong, if she loses just one subscriber.
I want to think there is a 'sifting' going on - those that enjoy and can't wait to get the newsletter, from those that either have 'bit off too much', or just don't personally agree with what we have to write. Either way, it's a sifting that is needed, can't be stopped, because each of us have
a mind, and we exercise it to the best of our ability. If something doesn't 'fit the bill' for us, we get rid of it, or OUT of it.
Nothing to worry about in that sifting. But, when the good seed is separated from the tares, lets be sure we are in the harvest of the good seed. Let's be sure to sow seeds of truth, that they spring forth and bring up good fruit. Man is so easy to fall into sin, and when the enemy has a chance, and sows
the tares, if you aren't careful, and fully aware of his methods, then you are susceptible to sinning. There will be a day of separation - a sifting of the good from the bad, and each of us will give an account to the SIFTER - Christ Jesus.
God's Thoughts:
Matthew 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
