Application of Scripture to Life
Our Thoughts:
I personally believe that, for everything, there _is_ a reason, although we may not be able to answer all the ifs, whys, and buts. If we examine the
Bible with all our ifs, whys, and buts, we will find that similar things happened to people back in the first days on earth on perhaps in the days of Jesus and afterwards.
As the scripture says, there is 'no new thing under the sun' [Ecclesiastes 1:9]. So, even from the Words of the Bible, we know that nothing new happens that hasn't already happened; nothing takes places that
others have already experienced throughout time.
Each day, when we rise, we need to give thanks to the maker of that life for being able to rise and see another sun rise.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 says "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." We shouldn't pick and chose those things for which we will thank God, but thank Him in 'all things'.
The last time I examined the word _all_, it meant everything. I know we do not feel like thanking God for our pain, but our pain helps us grow in Him. But, He has felt the pain that we feel; He knows what it is to
suffer in body. He knows what it is to be persecuted. We will never go through the pain that was subjected to Him, while He was living, and then hanging on the cross.
Authors have written probably about everything you could imagine, or want to read. But the Holy scriptures are the application for life; they speak to everything you could imagine. If you do a search in the Bible, you will come
up with scriptures that will serve you for all the things going on in your daily lives - things by why you can live a clean life, a comfortable life, a rich life, and a holy life. His Word is our guidebook to a fulfillment, that by worldy standards,
we won't ever be able to obtain. But, by His grace, mercy, and His righteousness, we are able to obtain the life of holiness. Perhaps we won't be without the daily pain of living, but we know Whom we serve, and that He is able to sustain us through
anything life brings.
God's Thoughts:
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the scriptures by which we can live a righteous life. Pain and persecutions may come, but I know that I can be delivered by the Word of God. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
All Scriptures are taken from the King James Version of the Holy Bible.
