We all have experienced the 'Monday morning blues'. It's hard to go back to work, or assume our normal duties, after a weekend of freedom from those duties. We want to 'sleep in' on Monday mornings, perhaps getting a much-needed rest
from the activites over the weekend. After being off of work for two days, it's hard to get back under the wheel, and off to work for yet another five days. We can always see ahead - another great weekend. So, the blues hit us.
Even the children get in on the Monday morning blues! They will say they hate school, don't want to go today, or perhaps mimic a sickness, hoping to be able to stay home another day. But, of course, parents know the signs well, After all, most of us
have gone through the same cycle during our childhood days. I loved school; just hated the 'getting out of bed' part. So, I can identify with the kids here.
Perhaps your body is dealing you misery this morning. You have physical problems that limit you, or you are feeling sick in your body. Perhaps it's not physical related, but emotional or mental problems that you are facing, that makes Monday a bad day, or perhaps, any day, for that matter.
Well, take heart! Being a faithful Christian has it's advantages. You have God on your side, and He is ready to help us through the 'Monday morning blues', as well as anything else that comes our way. He paid the debt for us to be free of things that hinder us from keeping our eyes securely on Him. All the pain
in our body, our reluctance to want to work, depression, anxities, fear - all of those were paid for on the cross of Calvary! He doesn't want you suffering; He wants you free from all those worries and pain, so you will be able to focus on His will for your life. So, look to Him today, and be set free of all those things
that keep you blue, and unable to tune in completely to His love.
God's Thoughts:
Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, the adversary is ready to take our minds off of you. Help us get over our blues and more able to focus completely on you, that we might have a more balanced life in You. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
