Whose Report Do You Believe?
Our Thoughts:
Do you ever feel like you have someone sitting there on your shoulder, listening to everything and putting those little ideas in your head?
How many times have you had confirmation on a prayer you've prayed, either from God, through someone else, or through the Word, and then turn around and get worried? That's sort of saying, "God, I know you can do it, but will you really? Am I worthy to have my
prayers answered? Are you sure you'll hear me, when I pray? I'm afraid that perhaps you will not, and my prayers are just bouncing off the ceiling."
Perhaps we are very intent on believing that God will do what His Word says He will do, at the moment we pray. But, if we don't stay in the Word all the time, and keep our minds stayed on Him, then, it's easy for
us to be swayed by outside interference. Those thoughts just pop up, and they are easily entertained, if our spirit isn't connected with His Spirit.
Patience is a key to getting prayers answered. To have patience, we need the grace of God. Without His grace, temptations come, and we stroll off to the right or left, and forget the straight and narrow path that we must follow.
The voice of God is the report I want to hear and believe. I want to keep my mind on Him and His ways, so, when the answer comes, I'll know that it is the Lord speaking, and not the adversary!
God's Thoughts:
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, in this world today, it's so easy to get side tracked, and distracted. Help us to keep our minds and hearts stayed on you. We know that you are the deliverer and your report is the only one we want to hear. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
