Ageless Saints March 16,
2001 Our Thoughts:
Ageless! What a thought! Should fill you with such exuberance that your joy couldn't be contained! But, then again, on the other side of the coin, do you want to live in this world, ageless?
Do you want to undergo the day-to-day hardships that are coming on this world, without end?
Then, there's the saint part; what is a saint? Many of us have different definitions for a saint. When I was a child, it was always looked upon someone who had lived a life for Christ, died, and gone to heaven. I wouldn't have imagined placing that
title on anyone alive; heaven forbid! I've long since found out that a saint is a believer in Christ, one who is separated from the world and consecrated to Him. It is one who is holy by profession and by covenant. And, 'acting' saintly is not the same as being a saint.
Anyone can be a good, moral person, but not a saint.
Through out times, there have been saints, those that came to God through His wooing of their spirit man. Until they came to Christ, they were sinners, fed their bodies and starved their souls. But, when they came to Christ, they became a new creature in Him - a saint!
St. Patrick, born in Britian, and captured by pirates when he was sixteen, was later sold as a slave in Ireland. During that time, he studied religion, and became driven by the idea of converting the Irish to Christianity. He later became known as the Apostle to the Irish.
The dictionary says that a patron saint is 'A saint who is regarded as the intercessor and advocate in heaven of a nation, place, craft, activity, class, or person.' I have no first hand knowledge of what goes on in heaven, or who is in heaven; therefore, I have no way of knowing if
what's said of St. Patrick is true or not. But, each of us, as a Christian, is a saint in God's eyes, whether we feel like one or not.
Back to ageless - one day, each of us will be in eternity. As a Christian, we will then have become the ageless saint - one who lives forever with Christ. We will 'never grow old' - we will be immortal, as well as ageless! Praise the Lord!

Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, we may never feel like a saint in this life, but we know we were made in your likeness, in your image. Help us to throw off the old man ways, adhere to your ways, and become more like the saint we are supposed to be in you. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
