Everlasting Arms
Our Thoughts:
Children can say some of the sweetest things, at times. You never know when they will come out with something that will tickle you beyond relief, or perhaps embarrass you. They are just innocent little children, being truthful, when they talk.
We are keeping our daughter's children this week, due to Spring break, since she works. Her little five year old son is mama's loving little son - the one that doesn't want to let go. Oh, he loves to come see us, but, he really loves to be with Mom all the time. So, it wasn't unusual
yesterday, when we got to our home, after watching soccer games, for him to say, "I don't know why I couldn't have stayed home." He just looked so lost, and it made one feel sorry for him. Then, he turned and asked me if his Mom would come and get him, if I called. I had to explain that she was gone yesterday, but, perhaps she's come and get him today. I didn't know that
she was planning on doing just that. So, this afternoon, when she called and asked if he was wanting to come home, he jumped with joy! And, then, after getting home tonight, she said the first thing he said was, "Can I sleep with you tonight, since there is nobody else at home to sleep with?"
As little children, we always loved to know we were loved, to be drawn into an adult's arms and hugged. We felt so important. Children without that sort of love feel left out, unwanted, and grow up not knowing how to express themselves.
There are arms that each of us can 'fall into', when we need love, or a special hug. They belong to our heavenly Father and are everlasting arms. He will hold you, bear your burdens, wipe away those tears, and love you like you have never been loved. He will bring you peace that passeth all understanding,
joy unspeakable, and full of glory. He can fix the unfixable, mend the broken hearted, and give you a new lease on life!
God's Thoughts:
Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, thank you for those strong arms that will hold me, when I need reassuring. When I need a special hug, I know that I can always come to you. I give you praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
