Child-like Faith Our Thoughts:
Children will amaze you at what they come up with at times. I often think that my grandchildren are older in mind than they are in body. At times,
I think they are smart beyond their years. I often call my seven year old grandson 'my little preacher'. Perhaps I'm prophesying. But, whether I am or not, he amazes me with his child-like faith and his
ability to come up with such spiritual things.
Several of us were watching a cartoon about 'power' the other night. He was sitting at the computer, using notepad, and began to type. He would ask the spelling of a word ever so often. He began to write sentences
about God and Jesus, and where the 'real power' came from. He wrote about how good God and Jesus was, and asked a question - 'Are you good like God and Jesus?' I thought, Lord, thank you for this little child, that, through his child-like faith,
he knows who really holds the power, at his tender age of seven. He realizes there is none more powerful, none better than the Lord. Even today, at his great grandmother's, he was reading a little book about Jesus being his best friend. As he read,
he emphasized that "Jesus IS My best friend", and he would smile. I am so thankful that he has learned early in life to follow the Lord - that there is NONE above Him, or more powerful.
If each of us could have the child-like faith that children do, our life would be more peaceful. They hear how 'bad' things are, or about death, destruction, but they never fail to say GOD can fix it, or that GOD loves them. They realize,
at the early age, that there is nothing more precious than that relationship with the heavenly Father. Maybe they don't really understand all they know, but God understands them. They communicate with Him with their innocence, and trust Him fully!
God's Thoughts:
Matthew 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for the faith my grandchildren have in you. They have found a 'friend' that they know will never leave them, and listens to their childish speech. They aren't fully
aware of the full impact of God in their lives, but they know you hold the power. For this, I give you praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
