Decisions, decisions, decisions! They are heaped up on us like coals on a fire! Sometimes our mind is flooded, at any one time, with enough decisions to make, that we lose our focus on what is most important.
There are decisions for families, for individuals, for businesses - to do or not to do, to go or not to go, to buy or not to buy. You name it; there is a decision for it! We often have trouble making the correct decisions, because we aren't adequately
prepared for the decision making process. But, ultimately, the decision process happens, whether right or wrong.
Can you imagine the decision David had to make, stepping up to the spot where he would use his little sling shot to over power the giant! I can imagine him thinking, 'here I am, just small little guy, compared to this hunk of a giant'. But, he knew who His
helper was; he never feared!
And Moses made the decision to obey God, raise his hands above the waters, and God parted the sea, and the Israelites walked through on dry land. I'm human; I think I'd have been scared even to walk between those waters! But, they were following God's instructions!
And, then, there's Peter, a man who is probably like most of us Christians today, when it comes to decision making. God called him from the ship - "Hey, Peter, come walk with me". Sure, Peter thought, God is there, and I'm going to follow after him. But, there was a certain amount of doubt, insecurity on
his part. But, there was God, and Peter took His hand and came out okay.
And, there's the ultimate decision, the one that will mean the most to you. It's the choice of whether to follow after God, or rely on yourself. God has given us the choice of making the decision on our own: will we follow after God, or after satan? Will we choose
to be His disciple, or satan's dupe?
God's Thoughts:
Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, it's decision-making time. We know the time is short, for your return is surely to come quickly. Help each one that doesn't know you personally, to come to you now. We give you thanks, honor and the glory. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
