Find Yourself Fizzling? Our Thoughts:
After a night without sleep, it's not hard to fizzle out very quickly. Sleep depravation makes you sluggish, grouchy, and all-around unable to function normally. It's hard to
do your job without feeling sleepy. And, that keeps you from doing it one hundred percent. Insomnia comes only sparingly in my life, but, one night without sleep is enough for me!
Sunday church goers are sort of like insomnia sufferers. One goes to church on Sunday and is all gungho for Christ. But, when Monday morning comes, it's back to the old grind. You forget the blessings that you
got worshipping Christ the day before, and get right in the weekly grind of being too busy to recognize He needs attention. You have the Monday morning blues, and you don't even want to work, let alone praise and worship! After all,
you did that on Sunday.
Wake up, folks! It takes seven days a week of worshipping and praising Christ to make you happy, healthly and alive in Him. Otherwise, you will be weak. He wants all of you, not just the part He sees on Sunday. He wants
a dedicated Christian, one sold out to Him completely, able to worship and praise daily, regardless of the circumstances in our lives.
We need to remind ourselves who we are. The blood of Christ was applied to our lives, and we came out transformed in His image. It's Jesus IN us now, all the time, and we need to act as though we have the power God gave us.
He's not puny, so neither should we act as though we were. God is not bored, either. So, Let go and let God use you. I am sure you will feel blessed and more alive than you've ever felt. The 'fizzling' will cease, and you will be rejuvenated!
God's Thoughts:
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, the enemy wants us beaten down, unable to worship and praise you freely. It's in his interest to make us tired, and to fizzle after the Sunday awakening. Help us revive, to become strong worshippers, ready to face the week with new fervor! Help us praise you when we don't feel like it, and thank you continually for the blessings you give us. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
